Black Point / Staniel Cay to Nassau
(or Nassau to Black Point / Staniel Cay)

Equal parts sailing, island exploration, and water-sports in a week.

Day 1

With a private plane charter, fly into Black Point (see Flights).

A smaller group can take scheduled flights by the seat into Staniel Cay (see Flights).

These flights offer amazing views of the Exumas. On your arrival, explore the secluded coves and beaches here.

Day 2

Each morning, follow your whim to join in early morning yoga/fitness with Liza or just relax over breakfast. Explore Staniel Cay by daylight. Snorkel the famous Thunderball Grotto, a giant cave that was used in the famous James Bond film. You'll feel as if you're in a gigantic aquarium! Other options for today include fishing with a local guide to catch tonight's dinner, or hike across the island for a spectacular view of Exuma Sound along a rugged, rocky coast. An afternoon sail North through the picturesque Pipe Creek area gives another opportunity to catch fish as we troll through this angler's haven. We'll anchor for the night in Sampson or Compass Cay, just in time for sunset! Enjoy the charming nightlife of this island, stroll along the deserted beaches, or gaze at the stars from your private yacht. Enjoy cocktails and dinner under the stars onboard Solstice as you gear up for tomorrow's adventures.

Day 3

After a morning snorkel or swim and a little beachcombing- sail on to Warderick Wells, headquarters for the Exuma Land and Sea Park . Explore the 4 miles of trails on this protected cay by foot and get some world-class photo opportunities of rare flora and fauna. Discover wells, caves and breathtaking views of Exuma Sound. Take time to scuba dive or snorkel to witness healthy, protected coral reefs and big, friendly animals underwater. You can also explore this paradise with our dinghy or 2-man sea kayak. This picturesque harbour is another perfect spot for a relaxing evening under the stars.

Day 4

Sail on to Shroud Cay, a deserted island where we'll anchor and explore the intricate mangrove creeks with our kayak and dinghy, and have a tropical picnic ashore "Camp Driftwood" beach. This is an out-island experience not to be missed - you'll truly feel as if you've time traveled back to the "Land of the Lost"!

Day 5

Awake to a gorgeous sunrise. Snorkel or scuba dive before we sail midday for our next island destination, Norman's Cay. Explore this island's ruins of an infamous drug runner and snorkel on his partially submerged airplane in the harbor. A wonderful beach on the front side of the island provides a perfect spot for lounging and an island picnic.

Day 6

Continue North to Allen's Cay, sailing through the intricate and picturesque cuts of Saddleback Cay. Arrive in time for an afternoon snorkel and dinghy ride to one of many private beaches and coves where wild iguanas emerge to greet you. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner at this peaceful spot, and stargazing while lying on Solstice's large trampolines.

Day 7

Depart early morning for an invigorating full day sail (30 nautical miles) over the Yellow Banks back to Nassau and civilization. Take the helm utilizing all of the sailing skills you've learned over the past week, or just enjoy the ride on the spacious deck and trampolines, reflecting on all of your adventures in the Exumas! Arrive back to Nassau Harbour and head out into the nightlife and glitz of Nassau and Paradise Island, or stay on Solstice anchored out off Rose Island and enjoy a final peaceful evening before heading home the next day.

Day 8

Disembark Solstice and make your way to the airport, realizing that next year you'll need 2 weeks on board!
