Day 1

Fly directly to the Exumas and join SOLSTICE at Staniel Cay. After a brief orientation with your crew, Cliff and Liza, you can dive right in and snorkel the famous “Thunderball Grotto”. Featured in the James Bond film, this cave and grotto is filled with fish and colorful corals that will make you feel as if you are in a giant aquarium! Enjoy lunch aboard at anchor with the colorful cottages of the Staniel Cay settlement in the background. Set sail North through Pipe Creek, a calm, winding waterway through many small cays.  You can fish along the way, relax and enjoy the incredible scenery. We will anchor for the evening at the North end of Compass Cay, a perfect deserted spot to enjoy the solitude and beauty of the Exumas.

Day 2

Awake to beautiful waters and a myriad of activities all within close range. After a delicious breakfast, swim or kayak to the beach and nearby sandbars. Walk along the shallow mangrove river to “Rachel’s Bubble Bath” a natural whirlpool. Enjoy swimming in this peaceful or bubbling lagoon- it all depends on the tide! Return to SOLSTICE and sail to nearby Rocky Dundas for a reef scuba dive or snorkel and to explore the several caves and grottos. After a relaxing lunch aboard, we will continue to nearby Fowl Cay for our evening anchorage. Enjoy this private crescent shaped beach and snorkel its wonderful reef before you relax with a delicious dinner under the stars.

Day 3

Experience an invigorating sail on SOLSTICE to reach Warderick Wells, the headquarters of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. This protected nature reserve offers miles of hiking trails with incredible views as well as fantastic beaches and coral reefs. Feed tropical birds sugar right out of your hand, and feel the strength of the currents as you flow off SOLSTICE on a swim float. See the giant whale skeleton on the beach and learn the history of this former pirate’s hideaway from the park rangers. Mingle with other cruisers over cocktails on the elevated park porch. This is a view you will never forget! Have a barbecue on the beach or dine onboard before you stargaze and listen to the island’s nearby blow-hole.

Day 4

Sail back South on the deep blue Exuma Sound. We will anchor in a favorite secluded anchorage off Sampson Cay where you can swim, snorkel, kayak, or try your hand at spearfishing. The idyllic beach is perfect for lounging or long walks.  Continue around to the Sampson Cay Marina, where nurse sharks congregate and weekend beach parties and barbecues are a highlight. After lunch, we will sail to nearby Big Major’s Spot to see the wild pigs who will swim out to greet us!  Enjoy this beautiful area before sailing back to nearby Staniel Cay for the evening. There you can explore the charming town and visit the Staniel Cay Yacht Club for a little island flavor.

Day 5

Awake to one last SOLSTICE breakfast and leisurely make your way ashore to fly home on your scenic charter flight. In just 4 short days in the Exumas, you have had the experience of a lifetime!
